Tagmarshal is a golf course optimization platform that hundreds of golf courses use in over 20 countries. The company uses GPS tracking and AI to improve the pace of play, enhance player experience, and drive operational efficiency. Its innovative tools have made it a market leader in the golf tech industry.


Their vision is to change how golf courses are managed with data, IoT, and optimization tools driven by machine learning. We spoke with Mija Kruger, Learning & Development Specialist at Tagmarshal, to learn how the golf tech innovator transformed its training experience with TalentLMS. Mija spoke with us about how the Tagmarshal team used the product in a more scalable, effective, and engaging way across global markets.

From neglected to necessary: Tagmarshal’s LMS comeback story

When Mija Kruger joined as a Learning & Development Specialist a little over a year ago, Tagmarshal’s LMS setup was underutilized. A Customer Success role handled L&D previously, but didn’t have the capacity to focus on L&D. They were more focused on clients at a customer success level.


While the company already had TalentLMS in place, it lacked dedicated ownership. Using the legacy system, Tagmarshal wasn’t exploring all the features available. Courses were long, completion rates were low, and clients opted for costly face-to-face training instead.


In addition, the company has grown by 40 employees in the last 6 months, making internal training just as important as client-facing training. However, the product’s adoption wasn’t as high as they wished.

Instead of replacing their LMS, Mija gave TalentLMS a strategic facelift. When she started, she was excited to explore it. Once Mija had the green light, change happened fast.


Armed with months of prep and a clear vision, she dove into TalentLMS and began quickly implementing improvements.


What could have been a gradual rollout turned into a single-day transformation, proving that with the right focus, even minor tweaks can lead to immediate, visible impact.

Mija didn’t aim for a complete overhaul. Instead, she focused on small, high-impact changes. She prioritized usability, accessibility, and relevance. Just what her learners needed. From restructuring content to automating reminders, every update made TalentLMS more effective for both clients and internal teams.

    Long videos were cut down into 5-minute modules followed by short assessments, reducing frustration and boosting retention. Now, very few courses are left incomplete. Clients are excited; they sign up for all the courses that Tagmarshal has.“

  • AI-assisted course creation

    TalentLMS’s built-in AI course creator helped convert video transcripts into flashcards and quizzes, speeding up content development.

  • Role-specific training paths

    Mija tailored learning journeys for different roles (e.g., golf course owners, operators, marshals, starters, F&B managers), improving relevance and engagement. Since working on TalentLMS, she has created 15 full courses, some with an average of 5 modules each.

  • Multilingual support

    Content has become available in Spanish and French using the platform’s translation tools. Mija believes that speaking to the end user in their own language bypasses pure translation and promotes a sense of understanding of the user’s needs.

  • Certifications

    Personalized certificates helped keep learners motivated and gave courses a lot of value, especially in the recruitment process. On the accreditation side, Tagmarshal has created its first PGA of America-accredited course, hosted within TalentLMS.

  • Automated nudges

    Automated notifications helped save time as users were notified if a course had been assigned. If the course awaited completion, notification workflows reminded users to finish what they started. This led to higher course completion rates with virtually zero manual follow-up.

Clients got so excited, they started signing up for all the courses. We had to tell them to slow down — it was messing up our reporting!”

Within just a few months of their efforts, Tagmarshal saw measurable improvements.


They’ve undergone a transformation and a major UI upgrade. Normally, migrating user data to the new system would be hard, but the project’s success has been tremendous. Now, Tagmarshal wants to scale client onboarding and streamline the process, making it as efficient as possible.
